Have we lost the meaning of July 4th, 1776

The Birth of Freedom

 On the July 4th we will celebrate the birth of this nation when Jefferson’s document of Independence was adopted. Although few of them signed it that day, in the end 56 men committed themselves to ending the tyranny of England on the colonies. They risked their own lives by signing the document, we call them the founders, patriots but had we lost all would have been considered traitors. They risked everything, unlike politicians of today who risk little and gain much from their time in Washington. Would any of them pledge their life or fortune and their sacred honor for freedom. This day isn’t just about fireworks or picnics, it’s about freedom and the brave men who stood up to Tyranny that day in Philadelphia. What would the founders think of our current form of federal government?

A government which has grown beyond the control of the people many believe, one that is placing too much burden on its citizens. One that for safety passes a bill to spy on Americans, a drone program that killed an American without a trial and his sixteen year old son. That it refuses to protect a border that brings in illegal drugs, aliens and anyone’s guess at what else crosses. However if you go to the airport, no matter if your 3 or 103 you can be poked and prodded for security reasons. A government now ordering you to buy a product or be punished, that unelected bureaucrats make up rules in agencies that congress has given away its power to. To a personal income tax system that violates your rights to keep what you earn, to a social security program that dictates you must save and on it goes.

Is this Freedom?

 Would Thomas Jefferson be speaking of a new declaration of independence, he gave us that right in the first one. He, along with the other signers clearly understood about government being the enemy of free people, we see this now on all levels of government. Their power was granted by us and now we have lost it, this two-party system plays games with your freedom everyday. The saddest part is most don’t understand what’s going on, don’t care and get voting advice from talking heads on TV. Ask many to name their Senators or what congressman represents them, many won’t know or get them wrong. We need change, we need a government working for all the people and not the few. Jefferson’s opening paragraph, hopefully it will never come to this.

When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

The TSA: Nearly as bad as Obamacare

Obama Won, America Lost!

Stunned into disbelief

 The ruling today on Obama-care was stunning for the person who sided with the liberal justices on the court. Roberts basically said the mandate can be a tax, so not buying something mandated by the government is a tax, really? I always thought when you did something that was against a law they fine you for defying the law. Justice Roberts and the rest gave an open door to government today, what other things will they mandate you buy or be taxed according to Roberts. They didn’t just violate the Constitution today but they violated common sense of what a tax is. Isn’t a tax on something you have earned or something you have bought not something you didn’t buy? Maybe somebody else can explain it to America because it makes no sense to me.

What’s next

 We must now defeat Barack Obama and enough Democrats in the Senate to start the repeal process of this abomination of a law. Our only hope is the fact that 60% of the country still hates this law, that may even grow now. The president said we shouldn’t fight the battles of the past, so I’m supposed to accept his law and everyone must as well. Sorry, Mr. President we don’t roll over that easy because a bad law even with good intentions is still a bad law. It’s my belief there is more at stake here than health care, it’s about what government is allowed to enforce on its citizens. The slippery slope of what they will think of next to pass in order to save us from ourselves. Look how well prohibition worked out, or the war on drugs or the education system they have destroyed. They are bankrupting this country with medicaid/medicare already and now more burden on the states along with taxpayers.

 The nine scariest words you’ll ever hear, “I’m from the government and I’m here to help.” and this what has happened with Obama-care. I personally will not be complying, they are going to have to throw me in jail for never paying that fine. I would rather rot in prison or die than comply with a federal government to forces me to buy what they want me to. I hold President Obama and all members of the Congress who voted for this act as traitors to Liberty and the oath they took to protect the Constitution.

That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government,

Has Obama declared War on Arizona

Is Arizona on his kill list?

 So after the Supreme Court upholds the key element of Arizona’s anti-illegal immigration law SB1070 the president attacked Arizona sovereignty again. Obama has told DHS to ignore requests from Arizona law enforcement on immigration status requests. Isn’t this exactly what many Arizonans have been talking about, that our federal government isn’t enforcing immigration law. So basically the federal government is telling the State of Arizona to drop dead and ignore us. Brewer should give him another letter, this one saying that if the federal government is going to ignore immigration law than so are we.  At some point you have to stand up to the bully, make your stand and fight for what you believe in. I now go to the founders for what may be necessary if our federal government continues down this path,

 That states and the people gave the federal government its power, they have the right to revoke that power. I have something for Obama, Holder and all of our federal government!

SB1070 gets to keep it’s Teeth

Main part will go into effect

 Today in a 5-3 ruling the Supreme Court struck down three parts of the Arizona law but kept the main part intact. The part that was kept was allowing state and local law enforcement when engaged in a legal stop to check legal status. If the officer believes the person is here illegally they can check with ICE on their status. It still puts the decision of what happens to the illegal alien in the hands of the federal government, violating no federal immigration law. The other parts only mirrored federal law, basically the Supreme Court ruled those parts fall directly under federal jurisdiction. Moving forward this probably isn’t over because all the pro-illegal immigration people will be bringing cases of people being detained under SB1070.

  One thing people should note is that Roberts sided with Kennedy, the reason for this is very simple. If the decision is 4-4 since Kagan recused herself then the ninth circuits ruling would have been upheld. Roberts siding with the others means the one part, the most important part is ruled constitutional until a further challenge comes along. So in a sense the decision is a win and a loss for now.
